The description of decorative nightlights can really be attributed to almost all nightlights out there. Of course the functionality is of the utmost importance when it comes to nursery nightlights, but decorative nightlights also can be very functional. The biggest difference here is going to be the general ambiance that the decorative nightlights affect on the environment. Many decorative nightlights are more expensive because they are more for decorative uses versus functionality, and for this reason the majority of decorative nightlights may not be of the greatest use in a nursery.

Plug in lava lamp nightlights are a great example of decorative nightlights. These miniature lava lamps are very spectacular to look at, but would not add a great deal of light for preventing tripping over a forgotten bag in the middle of the room. Because they are so cool to look at, this style of decorative nightlights is becoming very popular in kids rooms.

lava_nightlightSome nursery lamps can also fall into the decorative nightlights category. Such as a lighted globe that acts as a nightlight, this would prove to have little effect when it comes to lighting a room, but is great to look at and does provide a soft glow. If your child is interested in geography, this is a great nightlight for them. This particular decorative nightlight would also be perfect for the elegan den or family room, as it would provide a soft light and be a piece of interest for the entire family, not to mention guests.

Kids-ChandeliersAs we look into the more expensive decorative nightlights we find chandeliers. Chandeliers can be used as a nightlight when they are set on a dimmer switch and there is a wide range of choices when it comes to nursery chandeliers also. The purchase price of this style of decorative nightlights is prohibitive for many folks, but for those looking to have the most impressive room, chandeliers are the perfect option.

Nursery chandeliers will often have a theme and use a multitude of fabrics and designs to achieve the desired theme. Chandeliers like you see over the kitchen table will have even more choices when it comes to style and elegance. Crystal chandeliers are very popular and very exciting to look at, and some can be as affordable as $75 while others may reach into the thousands.

Nursery nightlights are not only useful in the nursery, they can also illuminate dark hallways on your night time trips to the nursery. Finding your way through the blur and haze of sleep, down a dark hallway can be a difficult task at best. Using nursery nightlights, plugged into wall sockets in the hall, will help to keep you safe in the darkness and avoid obstacles when rushing to get to your crying baby.

Nursery nightlights can also be used in the bathroom or any other room that you would like a faint glow versus pitch black. Night lights have evolved and are not just for decoration, but also for safety. Using nursery nightlights in childrens rooms will calm your kids when they awake with a fright, there is nothing scarier to a child than awaking to darkness after a bad dream.

Because of the variety of nursery nightlights that exist today, you will have no problem finding the perfect night light for every nook and cranny of your home. Simple plug in night lights are easy to use and, for the most part, inexpensive. Of course there are decorative night lights out there that are not so inexpensive, but these will be used for themed rooms and not purely for illumination.

You may also want to keep in mind your ever changing themes in your home and nursery. Equipping all dark areas with nursery nightlights will ensure that you have the perfect night light for any theme or occasion. You can find nursery nightlights that are very inexpensive, in the $5 range, if you are on a tight budget. Fixing these in the hallway for a soft light will not take many night lights and will ensure your safety, as well as your childrens safety, as they try to find the bathroom in the middle of the night.

Nursery lamps are more expensive, so you may want to just purchase one nursery lamp, then be frugal and buy nursery nightlights for the rest of the dark areas in your home. Nursery chandeliers and floor or wall lamps are also much more expensive, and some will even require an electrician for installation. Not so with nursery nightlights, these you can just plug in to the nearest outlet and, for the most part, forget about. Sure you will need to replace the bulb occasionally, but it will not be a huge expense for this either.

Keeping your home safe for you and your children is of the utmost importance. So please do not use extension cords for your night lights or anything else if you can avoid it. If for some reason you must use an extension cord, make sure it is heavy wire, 14 gauge or heavier. Remember that with wire, the lower the gauge, the thicker the wire, so 12 gauge wire is even better than 14. Keep the clutter out of your path to the bathroom, kids room, or nursery. There is nothing worse than hurting yourself by tripping over something on the way to comfort a scared child. Be safe and enjoy the beauty and usefulness of your nursery nightlights for years to come.

Nursery chandeliers are capable of sprucing up any childs room. Nursery chandeliers bring a touch of class and show a sense of style and elegance. When you just cannot find the right style of lighting to show off your excellent tastes, it may be time to start considering nursery chandeliers.

Nursery chandeliers are not cheap. In fact, adding a chandelier to any room of your house will probably be your most expensive purchase when it comes to lighting and light fixtures. However, nursery chandeliers do give you the opportunity to express yourself and your keen sense of design. Nursery chandeliers come in various designs and styles, you are sure to find a perfect fit for your nursery theme.

Nursery-Chandeliers1There are so many styles of nursery chandeliers that I could not even attempt to list them all here, but I will discuss a few of your options when it comes to picking a nursery chandelier. In the first image you will see a race car pendant light, this is considered to be part of the nursery chandeliers family. However, as you can see, this light is only held up by two very thin rods or wires and has the electrical cord just kind of hanging there. Keep in mind when choosing nursery chandeliers that one of this style will be more fragile, although very intriguing to look at, if your child ever gets a hand on it, the chances are it will not last long. And at a price in the $150 range, you do not want it to break, so choose your placement of such a light wisely.

Airplane-ChandeliersThe next style of nursery chandeliers that we will discuss is an airplane hanging light. This light is very similar in style to the car pendant light, but has thicker rods for supporting it and the cord is hidden. This is far more classy due to not being able to see the cord just hanging around, but once again would be fragile and would need to be placed properly in the nursery so that baby would never get a hand on it.

Kid-ChandelierOur next selection for nursery chandeliers pictures is the “man in the moon” nursery chandelier. As you can see, this is more like the standard chandelier with a heavy base connecting the chandelier to the ceiling. This style is going to be far more sturdy than the aforementioned hanging lights, but will come at a greater price. Nursery chandeliers of this quality will run in the $200-$800 range, but will be well worth the price when it comes to durability, style, and elegance.

crystal-chandaliersFor the top of the line nursery chandeliers, we will discuss crystal chandeliers and pendant chandeliers. These models exhibit the epitome of class, and will WOW! Anyone who sees your nursery. If you are looking to impress the husbands boss, this is the way to go. But remember that you will pay a price for the wow factor and crystal chandeliers are fragile when grabbed and yanked by an inquisitive baby. You will find crystal chandeliers from $75 and running up into the thousands depending on style and manufacturer.

No matter what style of nursery chandeliers you choose, be sure to place them so that baby will not be able to get ahold of them. Letting your baby sleep with the chandelier on may not be a good idea, for the safety of your baby’s eyes you should make sure it is off when baby is sleeping. Try to avoid any kind of hanging lamp with a cord that must be plugged in, this is just an extra hazard for your nursery that you do not need. A big disadvantage of nursery chandeliers is that they do require mounting as the majority are a standard light fixture and will require wiring as well.

Kids night lamps can be as simple as a nursery nightlight or as complex as a table lamp with a built in nightlight at the base.

Kids night lamps are most often used to keep children comfortable during the night. They are also quite useful for when your child needs you in the middle of the night, stumbling through the darkness half asleep is never a good thing, for you or your child. Kids night lamps will ensure that when your child awakens with a start in the night, they will be able to see their surroundings which should comfort and soothe them, hopefully enough that they fall right back to sleep. Waking up to a pitch black room can be quite terrifying for a child, using kids night lamps will diminish this risk.

Kids night lamps come in a myriad of shapes and sizes. You are sure to find the perfect kids night lamps to fit any themed room and to fit any childs tastes. If you are on a tight budget, you might want to consider night lights for this purpose. Childrens table lamps are also available and many of them have a nightlight built right into the base. This is dual purpose and highly recommended, since it can be utilized as a kids table lamp or a night light for kids. These kids night lamps with built in night lights can be anything from sports themed to butterfly themed.

For the child who has fallen in love with astronauts and space exploration there are some amazing choices when it comes to kids night lamps. You will find kids night lamps with space shuttles that light up (as shown) to moons or even rockets.

For the little builder there are kids night lamps with bulldozer night lights and there are even little houses that light up. Capitalizing on your childs interests with their room theme will help to guide them on their path and keep them interested and focused.

For the ocean loving child you can find kids night lamps that have a little boat that will act as a nightlight. This is probably my personal favorite after commercial fishing for a living ;)

Kids night lamps featuring ladybug night lights are very popular and easy to find. Prices for kids night lamps generally start out around $40 and can go as high as you can imagine, depending on design, workmanship, and material.

Nursery nightlights and nursery lamps have improved immensely over the last couple of decades. Nursery nightlights used to be not much more than a bulb plugged into a socket, but they have evolved into ornate decorative pieces that are more than just functional. Nursery lamps have been improved upon and stylishly enhanced, not to mention the addition of nursery nightlights being built into the base of some models.

Nursery nightlights can now be found in a variety of themes. Just about any creature or creation you can think of has been made into a decoration for nursery nightlights. Butterfly nursery nightlights have been a long time favorite of moms around the world, and they will not be disappointed when shopping for their new butterfly nightlights. Stained glass is now being used to produce lovely pieces of art that also act as a nightlight and enhance the theme of a nursery. Stained glass nursery lamps are also being produced, but the cost can be prohibitive, depending on your financial situation. There is also safety in the future to consider if you are considering stained glass for your nursery, once your baby is crawling or walking, stained glass may not be the very best thing to have around an inquisitive child, but you can always move them to your room and get a new nursery lamp or nightlight at that time.

Space themed rooms have become very popular and you will find nursery nightlights and nursery lamps that will fit this motif very well. Nursery lamps are being made with space shuttles as the base, or even a moon and stars. Picking your nursery theme is much harder than finding a nursery lamp or nightlight to fit your theme. However, you can window shop for nursery nightlights and nursery lamps to get good ideas for the theme that you would like for your newborn or even for a toddler room.

Pay close attention when shopping for a nursery lamp, if you are low on funds, you will want to find one that will fit any theme you choose over the next few years. Also take heed that once your child is walking, they most likely will have a mishap or two while playing with their nursery lamps because they look so cool and fun. This is where you need to consider the material and durability of your nursery lamps, so that you are not needing to purchase a new one every time your child accidentally knocks it over. Many nursery lamps are being made from plastics and polymers that are closer to indestructible than say stained glass or some other fragile constructions.

Nursery-Lamp

Your child will most likely want to touch and play with their nursery nightlights, so be sure when they hit this age that your nursery nightlight is made of a less fragile material also. Because your child will naturally be inquisitive, you really should invest in some plug-in covers to help eliminate the risk of your baby being shocked. Even the most well behaved child is going to want to touch everything while they are young and curious, this is how they learn of course, so it is our job to try to keep them safe. The closer to floor level you can have your nursery lamps the better, less distance to fall. Please do not put any lights, especially with a cord hanging down, on a high shelf. Even though you are sure there is no way your baby can reach the cord, this is how accidents happen often in the nursery.

Because you and your baby may decide that a new theme is in order for the nursery, it is a good idea to choose nursery lamps that have lampshades available in multiple colors. This way you can easily change the look and style of your nursery lamps with a simple lampshade change, rather than needing a new nursery lamp. Nursery nightlights are a little more static, but usually less conspicuous, but still need some consideration when choosing your first theme. It is always better to be prepared and save a few bucks, at least that has always been my upbringing…call me frugal ;)

Personalized-Kids-Lamps

Since we are on the subject, let’s talk about the general pricing of nursery nightlights and nursery lamps. Plain nursery nightlights will start at around $5 and go up from there, stained glass nursery nightlights will run in the $25 range, and the stuffed animals that emit a lightshow will cost a bit more. I am sure if you search hard enough you could pay a whole lot more, but most consumers will keep their nursery nightlighs budget around $20 each. Nursery lamps are of course more spendy, and usually begin in the $25 range. A nice nursery lamp with built in nursery nightlight will generally cost around $40 and up, seems pretty high, but you also will not have to worry about separate nightlights this way. Specialized nursery lamps and nightlights will be more costly and you can undoubtedly find them at any price you can dream of, due to quality and material that may be chosen. Personalized nursery lamps and nursery nightlights are available and some purveyors are pretty reasonable, this is a great option for when your child is reaching the toddler stage and wanting to show off that this is their room.
